Past Meeting Thursday November 17

Speaker: Dan Khoury

Topic:  Kabbalah and Astrology

Coco's Restaurant:      18355 Ventura Blvd, Tarzana
6:00-7:30 pm - Social Gathering
         7:45 pm - Speaker

The subject of this next talk is how the Kabbalah, its Tree of Life and the connecting 22 Hebrew letters/symbols, plays a significant role in the definitions of Astrology’s archetypal planetary meanings. You don’t want to miss this talk that can give you a better understanding to that age old saying “As Above, So Below” and “As Without, So Within”. Know what you and the world are “Receiving” with the help of the Kabbalah, its Tree of Life, the connecting Hebrew 22 letter alphabet and the structures of Astrology.

Dan’s first encounter with Astrology was 40 years ago, while serving in Vietnam. Since then he has continued his love of the science through the understanding and sharing of its principles. Much of his education on the subject is selftaught. He has been a student and teacher at the Carroll Righter home for over 20 years, and before that was a part of The New Age Philosophy Center in Santa Monica. He is currently a regular teacher / speaker at the Carroll Righter home on Tuesday nights. He has been an ongoing speaker at NCGR on such subjects as "The Astrological Symbolism of The DiVinci Code", "Pluto entering Capricorn", "Saturn in Virgo and Libra", and one of his favorite subjects, "The Five Stations (pentagram) of Venus’ current 8 year retrograde sojourn from 2004 and ending with 2012".

Congratulations to Charlene Whitaker who was elected as Treasurer by member vote at the October 2011 meeting in Tarzana.  If anyone has any thoughts, or suggestions that may help our chapter, please contact any of our officers or contact Cisco at .

Chapter member dues of $15.00 a year are due.  This does not apply to NCGR members, who pay $55 a year. The advantage of NCGR membership is receipt of NCGR publications. Dues are used to pay our speakers and maintain our mailing list, and pay our chapter expenses.  Adults only please – not an appropriate venue for children.

Note: We are planning a chapter Christmas Party.

If anyone has suggestions for speakers or activities, feel free to call any of our officers. Everybody is requested to come as close to 6:00 pm as possible so that we can get to our speaker in a timely fashion since we only have the room for a limited amount of time.
